For anyone who has rebuked mainstream America for not giving Latinos opoortunities to showcase their talents, then how do you explain Gerardo Naranjo? Yeah, I know what you're saying... "a good agent and being Hispanic is in vogue." You might be right, but it's happening. It's becoming an American reality, an a normalcy we need to get used to.

According to Deadline.com, 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment are negotiating with Gerardo Naranjo to direct The Mountain Between Us, an adaptation of the Charles Martin novel.

For those of you who don't know who Gerado Naranjo, he's coming off Miss Bala, Mexico’s Best Foreign Language Film Oscar submission. It is executive produced by Mexican heavyweights Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna and tells the story of Laura, a young woman whose aspirations of becoming a beauty queen turn against her, delivering her into the hands of a gang that's terrorizing northern Mexico.

If you were to ask any theater fan what is the show they are most looking forward to seeing this year, a large majority will probably tell you ‘Evita’. Why? One name. Ricky Martin. Word of mouth has been so widespread on his co-starring role that any advertising would be almost unnecessary. Nevertheless, and to be on the safe side, producers have launched their PR minions to let those who have been sleeping under a rock that - “Ricky is coming, Ricky is coming!”

The marketing blitz began on radio approximately 2 weeks ago and has expanded now onto TV. Thanks to Youtube, we got our hands on the :15 second commercial that shows Martin, nicely shaved and tan, with the other two talented leads in Argentine actress Elena Rogers and Broadway veteran Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd). Even though the ad is brief, it’s haunting. The musical is gaining momentum and by the time it opens on April 5th, it’ll become an event.

Have a look below at the first ‘Evita’ on Broadway television commercial starring Ricky Martin.

Synopsis:...

His performance as Jesus Martinez in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ was as visceral and absorbing as any performance this year in a supporting role. The scene where Peña is being harassed by Matthew McConaughey’s character in an interrogation room is riveting.

ShowBizCafe.com got a chance to catch up with Clint Eastwood the director of the film Hereafter and the main character, Matt Damon. This was the closing film for the 48th New York International Film Festival. They told us a little bit about the film and how they prepared for it, we received a joyous interview where they complemented one another's answers; with their pleasant personalities we got a couple of laughs and plenty of information about the dramatic film which brings the story of three people from different sides of the world into one wholesome storyline that is moving and touching.

ShowBizCafe.com (SBC):Mr. Eastwood, does it seem to you that sometimes there's similar themes in your films? Also, what are your thoughts on staying relevant as a director?

Clint Eastwood (CE): I like to think there are different themes in every film, I don't know if there's an on going theme; is that what you are suggesting?I think everything to me is spontaneous, [say] 'Unforgiven' is an example [of] a script I liked right away, I said: "This is great but i'd like to do this when i'm older." So, I stuck it in the drawer for 10 years...

'Chronicle' makes great use of the “found footage” technique many movies have used such as ‘Cloverfield’ did, this makes the public feel like part of this crazy journey. So, there’s mainly just a handheld camera that’s used, but the use of security cameras as well give it a nice twist. This isn’t just a movie about super powers, but also about friendship and self-growth. We see what power does to people and how easily the lines between right and wrong are crossed when there’s nothing to stop you. Despite of the fact that this is an action/Sci-fi film, there’s a genuineness to it that makes aspects of the film, such as having superpowers almost seem possible.

Our main cameraman is Andrew (Dane Dehaan), a senior in high school who’s basically an outcast, there’s bullies coming at him not only in school, but also in the streets and even at home. His only friend is Matt (Alex Russell) who has his own quirkiness but yet...

Daniel Radcliffe made an incredibly surprising move by choosing this movie as his first project after his life legacy of ‘Harry Potter’.The Woman in Black’ is a decent horror film that uses old formulas that work, but at times it’s too predictable to make you loose sleep. The film has an elegance and beauty that keeps you entertain up to a certain point; fortunately the length of the film also helps it be more likeable. This film reaches close to the level of ‘The Ring’, but it will only scare those that truly believe in the supernatural and can overlook the clichés of it.

‘Underworld: Awakening’, the fourth installment of the franchise, was not screened to the press, which led me to believe this film was garbage. But to my surprise, it was completely the opposite - pure brain slashing right from the beginning, tons of action, the special effects were on point, but the 3D was a major disappointment. It looked like 2D. A waste of money if you asked me. Also, there are no hidden scenes at the end of the credits, so don't’ wait for it, but they do set up the ending for another sequel. I saw this in IMAX and it's money well spent. It really enhances the experience. In my opinion, this is the best movie of the week, much better than ‘Haywire’ and ‘Red Tails’.

Set 15 years after the conclusion of ‘Underworld Evolution’, after Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and her human-Lycan hybrid lover Michael (Scott Speedman) vanquished the Vampire Elder Marcus. It really ignores part three ‘Rise of the Lycans’. In the intervening years, mankind has discovered the existence of both the Vampire and Lycan clans, and launched an all-out war to eradicate both species. Selene, captured during the genocide, awakens...

‘The Devil Inside,’ the first movie of 2012, is a big disappointment, not only in my opinion but also in the opinion of everyone else that was in the movie theater with me. When the movie finished there was endless booing and cursing from the public, they all wished to have a tomato to throw at the screen. The biggest flaws of the movie: the ending is a cut off scene that manages to upset everyone and the “scary” film mainly manages to make the whole audience crack up throughout most of it because of how ridiculous it is. There are only about 3 scenes that make you anxious for the safety of the main characters but everything is so predictable that it takes away from the few good scenes.

The film is done in documentary form. This is such a beautiful story about perseverance, love, understanding and adventure. Steven Spielberg has managed once more to make a family film that will capture many. Director Steven Spielberg really used the latest image capture technology to its best, which can be expected since he did work with WETA, the special effects house that made movies like ‘Avatar’. As Spielberg told us, this has been a project that was 20 years in the making, but it sure was worth the wait.

This thriller will not disappoint any of the aforementioned, many might think there was no need to make an American version of the film, but the truth is that it combined all the good elements of the original one along with the book as a guide of course to make a great remake.
